Early Life and Education

Roots:
Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, as the youngest of eight children.

Legacy:
A second-generation dental professional inspired by her dentist father and nurse educator mother.

Undergraduate Degree:
Earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Drexel University in Philadelphia.

Dental School:
Graduated from the Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C.

Residency:
Completed a dental residency at Kings County Hospital and a highly competitive orthodontic residency at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn.

Clinical Practice

Dr. Bobbi is the founder and owner of Aces Braces, a boutique orthodontic practice with locations in Brooklyn, NY, and Philadelphia, PA. She is recognized as one of only a few Black female orthodontists owning practices in Brooklyn.

Her clinics emphasize:

• Inclusivity, affordability, and high-quality local care.
• Mentorship opportunities, providing internships and practical experience to aspiring minorities in dentistry.
• Free orthodontic evaluations for the local community.

The “Big Mouth” Toothbrush & Shark Tank

In response to seeing rising rates of gum disease and realizing patients rarely brushed for the recommended two minutes, Dr. Bobbi invented the Big Mouth Toothbrush.

Design:
Features an extra-large, wider brush head to cover more surface area and optimize cleaning time.

Shark Tank Success:
She pitched her innovation on ABC’s Shark Tank, securing a business partnership with investor Barbara Corcoran. The toothbrush completely sold out within 24 hours of the episode airing.

Advocacy and Literacy

Beyond clinics and product design, Dr. Bobbi is a passionate advocate for bridging health disparities in marginalized communities.

She is also the published author of the children’s book Tanner’s Teeth, which highlights the achievements of the first African American dentist to inspire the next generation.
